Household Hazardous Waste Collection

The City of Murrieta and County of Riverside hold a hazardous waste collection once a month at Murrieta City Hall parking lot located at 1 Town Square, 24601 Jefferson Ave in Murrieta.  Only open twice a year, next date is Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The following items can be discarded:

• Used Oil and Filters
• Latex/Oil-Based Paint
• Fluorescent Tubes/Bulbs
• Pesticides
• Cleaners
• BBQ & Camp Size Propane
• Aerosol Cans
• Antifreeze
• Auto/Household Batteries
• Garden Chemicals
• Pool Chlorine
• TVs and Computers
• Electronic Waste
• Sharps

Each load shall not exceed 15 gallons of liquid waste or a total of 125 pounds - multiple trips are allowed.  Containers shall be marked and secured to prevent leaks.  Containers holding gasoline will not be returned.

Not accepted at this facility are:

• Government, Business, Non-Profit, or Out of County Hazardous Wast
• Explosives or Ammunition
• Medical/Infectious Waste (except Sharps)
• Asbestos
• Radioactive or Remediation Material
• Containers larger than 5 gallons or weighing more than 50 pounds
• Appliances
• Tires
• Trash
